★ Our Verdict

The Nokia 8.1 offers a compelling package with its strong performance, excellent camera, and commitment to software updates through Android One, making it a highly competitive mid-range option.

The Nokia 8.1 is an excellent choice for users seeking a reliable mid-range smartphone with a pure Android experience and consistent updates, thanks to the Android One program. Its Snapdragon 710 processor handles daily tasks and moderate gaming with ease, while the Zeiss-branded dual cameras with OIS deliver impressive photo quality, especially for its price point. The HDR10-capable PureDisplay offers a vibrant viewing experience. However, potential buyers should note the lack of water resistance and wireless charging. If a premium build, great camera, and long-term software support are priorities, and you can overlook the absence of these flagship features, the Nokia 8.1 remains a strong contender, particularly for those who appreciate a clean Android interface.
