Cons

Runs an outdated version of Android (Gingerbread/Ice Cream Sandwich)

Limited official software updates and security patches
Battery life may be insufficient for modern usage patterns.

★ Our Verdict

While innovative for its time with a QWERTY keyboard and Super AMOLED screen, its age and outdated software significantly limit its practical use today.

The Samsung Captivate Glide is a relic from an earlier smartphone era, primarily appealing to collectors or those nostalgic for physical QWERTY keyboards. If you're considering purchasing one today, understand that it runs a very old version of Android (Gingerbread, officially upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich), meaning most modern apps will not function, and security updates are non-existent. Its 3G connectivity is slow by today's standards, and the 1650 mAh battery will offer limited endurance. This phone is not suitable for daily use as a primary smartphone in 2026; it lacks modern features, performance, and security. It's best viewed as a historical piece rather than a functional device.
